Dean Marquette built several homes for himself over the years and kept busy assisting family with remodeling projects in the evenings and on weekends. Each project intensified his passion for the industry and his desire to help others achieve their dream spaces. It was that passion that drove Dean to resign from his full-time job as a machinist and start Dercon Construction Services. The Dercon name is derived from Dean’s two sons’ names, Derek and Conner, who have been involved in the business since its inception.

Established in 2004, Dercon Construction Services was founded to achieve remodeling excellence in the greater Minneapolis/St. Paul area. Initially, Dean ran all aspects of the business and remodeling projects himself, from assisting with upfront design to final inspection. As Dercon grew, Dean recognized the importance of surrounding himself with a team that, at their core, held the same values and passion for the industry.

Dean Marquette

Founder

Dean Marquette founded Dercon Construction Services in 2004, bringing over 40 years of construction experience and nearly 50 years as an Anoka County resident. Known for his exceptional problem-solving and listening skills, Dean started Dercon as a side project, which quickly grew into a full-time business due to high demand. His deep knowledge and passion for construction are evident in every project, setting high standards for customer experience and craftsmanship. Dean’s commitment to quality work and client satisfaction continues to shape our company’s values and reputation in the community.

Derek Marquette

Design & Sales Consultant

Derek Marquette, Dean's oldest son, joined Dercon Construction full-time in 2014 after earning a Bachelor’s in Economics with minors in Finance and Marketing from the College of St. Scholastica. Having worked alongside his father since the age of 12, Derek has over 10 years of experience as a top design and sales consultant. He is dedicated to ensuring client satisfaction by educating them on the best products and installation techniques. Derek’s commitment to excellence and customer service continues to strengthen Dercon’s reputation for quality and care.

Conner Marquette

General Manager & Sales

Conner Marquette, Dean's youngest son, serves as General Manager and a leading sales and design consultant at Dercon. Conner has been part of the family business since age 13 and now brings over 8 years of expertise to his dual roles. A graduate of St. Cloud State University with a degree in Psychology and minors in Entrepreneurship and Sales, he is known for his excellent communication, product knowledge, and client-focused approach. Conner is passionate about creating unique design solutions and overseeing projects from start to finish, ensuring a top-notch experience for every client.

Dan Hosley

Project Supervisor

Dan Hosley joined Dercon in 2022 with over 20 years of experience in project management, customer service, and hands-on carpentry. As Project Manager, he oversees all remodeling projects, ensuring work meets Dercon’s high-quality standards. Dan excels at building strong relationships with clients and takes pride in guiding each project from start to finish, ensuring every detail is attended to, including the final clean. His dedication to quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction makes him a valuable member to each one of Dercon's projects.

Taressa Cullen

design & sales consultant

Taressa Cullen joined Dercon in 2024, bringing over 22 years of experience in design and construction. With a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Architecture from UW Stevens Point, Taressa combines her strong design foundation with creativity and expertise. As a Sales & Design Consultant, she excels in crafting spaces that are both aesthetically striking and functionally tailored to each client's needs. Her deep understanding of design ensures that every project is personalized, reflecting her clients' unique style while enhancing the functionality of their spaces. Taressa’s experience and vision make her a valuable addition to our customer experience.

Jeff Haug

Lead Carpenter

Jeff Haug joined Dercon in 2017, bringing over 27 years of experience in the construction industry as a fourth-generation carpenter. He leads our field production team, ensuring that every project is neat, clean, organized, and exceeds client expectations. Specializing in finish carpentry, Jeff enjoys working with millwork, cabinets, and custom railings. He is passionate about building strong relationships with clients and mentoring younger team members, sharing his expertise to ensure high-quality workmanship and a positive work environment. Jeff’s dedication to excellence makes him a key leader at Dercon.

Kyle Sandven

Project Coordinator

Kyle Sandven joined Dercon with over 13 years of experience as a U.S. Air Force Weather Forecaster, bringing strong organizational and project management skills. With a bachelor’s degree in operations and project management and a Project Management Professional Certification, Kyle expertly handles project coordination, material procurement, permitting, and vendor management. His strengths in resource allocation, clear communication, and detailed oversight ensure every remodel is executed with precision and efficiency. Kyle’s commitment to excellence keeps projects on track and clients satisfied, making him an invaluable part of keeping our projects on time.

Frank Fotia

Shop Manager

Since joining Dercon in 2007, Frank Fotia has contributed his extensive expertise across various roles, from design to production. With deep knowledge of all phases of construction, Frank now focuses on equipping our shop and production team with the tools and materials needed to complete projects efficiently and to the highest quality. Known for his adaptability, he also handles unique requests and custom scenarios for clients, ensuring their visions are brought to life seamlessly. Frank’s dedication and versatility make him a crucial part of the the function and deep knowledge of our production staff.

Eric Butte

Lead Carpenter

Eric joined Dercon in 2020, bringing over 15 years of carpentry experience to our team. He excels in turning clients' visions into reality, especially with intricate finish carpentry projects. Dedicated to maintaining high standards, Eric ensures every project stays on schedule, with worksites that are clean and organized. His attention to detail and commitment to quality make a lasting impact on each client’s project, enhancing both functionality and aesthetics to meet and exceed expectations.

Carly Miller

Office manager

Carly began her career as a hairstylist, graduating from the Aveda Institute in Minneapolis in 2014 and working in a salon for nearly five years. During that time, she pursued an Accounting degree and transitioned into the field, gaining experience in the Accounting Department of a law firm. Carly joined Dercon in early 2021, where she now manages all accounting and administrative functions in our "Back Office." Her diverse background and attention to detail keep our operations running smoothly and efficiently

Mike Jarvi

Plumber

Mike Jarvi joined Dercon Construction in 2023, bringing nearly two decades of construction expertise to the team. Starting his career in 2004 with a focus on siding, windows, and doors, Mike transitioned to plumbing in 2014. As our on-staff plumber, Mike handles rough-ins, fixture installations, and much more, always ready to lend a hand wherever he's needed. His commitment to quality and customer satisfaction makes him a valued member of our crew, ensuring each project meets our high standards.

Trevor Dahl

Project Estimator

Trevor Dahl joined Dercon in 2018, bringing extensive expertise in project management, estimating, and hands-on field work. He collaborates closely with our Design & Sales Consultants, Project Coordinators, and Project Supervisors to ensure accurate budgeting and adherence to project costs throughout production. Trevor enjoys overseeing each project as it comes across his desk, and he takes pride in helping the team develop creative solutions for design challenges. His attention to detail and problem-solving skills play a key role in delivering projects on budget and meeting our clients’ expectations.
